    Charming island city on Lake Peten Itza with beautiful colonial architecture. Great for hiking, swimming, and spotting wildlife. Take a lancha (small boat) to the ARCAS wildlife rehab center to see jaguars, monkeys, birds, and more. Nearby, Jorge’s Rope Swing is highly recommended for fun in the water along with drinks and food.

  • Tikal

    Home of incredible Mayan ruins and formerly one of the most powerful Maya cities - a major political, economic, & religious center in the rainforests of Guatemala. The temples are fantastic sights, some of which you can climb for incredible views. Abandoned in 10th century AD, the reasons for its decline are still unknown. More ruins remain under the terrain, not yet excavated.

    1 hr to Flores, 6.5 hr to Coban, 7 hr to Lanquin.

    9 hrs to Guatemala City.
